Why Choose Russia as preferred Destination for MBBS?

EDUCATION SYSTEM IN RUSSIA
The Russian educational system, as it has been noted many times by major international experts, is one of the most developed and advanced educational systems in the world. In the context of a changing society the educational system proved to be capable, on the one hand, of adapting to rapid transformations of new realities (while preserving its well-known strong qualities) and on the other hand, to the phase of prolonged evolutionary reformation.

Higher education is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry for Education and Science of the Russian Federation, which is responsible for the accreditation and licensing of higher education establishments, and for developing and maintaining State Educational Standards.

Only accredited higher education establishments have the right to issue state diplomas and degrees ensuring full vocational and academic rights, and are covered by the international agreements on mutual recognition and validation of education documents. Only accredited higher education establishments have the right to use the seal with the national emblem of the Russian Federation. All state degrees awarding specific qualifications to a graduate, irrespective of the type of educational institution (University, Academy, and Institute) and the ownership pattern (state, municipal, non-state), are equal in status.

The Russian Federation discerns the following types of higher education establishments:

·         University is a higher education institution with activities aimed at developing education, science, and culture by performing fundamental scientific research and training at all the levels of higher, post-higher and further education within a wide range of Natural Sciences, Humanities and other directions of science, technology, and culture.
·         Academy is a higher education institution aimed at developing education, science, and culture by performing fundamental scientific research and training at all the levels of higher, post-higher and further education, mainly in one specific area of science, technology and culture.
·         Institute is an independent higher education institution or a part (structural unit) of the university, and academy that applies vocational educational curricula in specific areas of science, technology, culture and is involved in scientific research.

MBBS ADMISSIONS IN RUSSIA

Being in India, we know what kind of competition  a medical student faces while fighting for a seat in Medical College. AIPMT, State PMT, Private College PMTs, there is no end to the number of competitive exams which a student faces, and what kind of trauma he went through when one after the another he has to prepare himself/herself for the next exam, the expectation of the parents, and one's own expectation which one has to fulfill.

If you are successful to get that one seat you are lucky, But if you are one of those thousands of students who could not succeed, that does not make you "incapable" or "unlucky". Lets get some facts clear:

  • At present there are 41569 seats for MBBS and 22194 seats for PG in India
  • 335 Medical Colleges, 181 are Private and 154 are Government colleges
  • India marked 67th among the developing countries in the case of doctor-population ratio. 1:2000 approx
  • Shortage of 10 Lakh doctors in India. There are 7 Lakh doctors against a requirement of 17 Lakhs.
  •  In India total 10 Lakh students appear in various entrance examinations out of that 15% clears the examination.

"India would require at least seven lakh doctors to fulfil its requirements in the health sector", the Medical Council of India (MCI) said this statement.
"We assessed that the country needs about seven lakhdoctors. Even if we increase our current intake from current 35,000 to 50,000 it will be 2031 when we will be able to meet the target. We can`t wait that long," he said."We have now increased post graduate (PG) seats from 9000 to 20,000 and every year they will increase. Our aim is of cylindrical growth where PG seats are equal to undergraduate (UG) seats in the country," Sarin said. (Source: Zee News)

After reading this it must be clear to you that the competition is all about the less resources that we have, We don't have enough number of Medical Colleges which can accommodate the number of aspiring students in our country and which is also resulting in the less number of required doctors.

Now coming to Medical Colleges, read this:

"The Medical Council of India has referred a total of 301 complaints against institutions and the medical fraternity to state medical councils, the maximum 45 of which are pending with the Delhi Medical Council. After Delhi, it is the Uttar Pradesh state medical council with 41 pending cases.

The number of cases pending with Andhra Pradesh state medical council is 14, Maharashtra 25, West Bengal 26, Haryana 17, Gujarat 13 and Rajasthan 26, MCI sources said. The least number of cases are pending with Goa which has received only one complaint from MCI. Uttarakhand has four cases with its state medical council.

The Medical Council of India is mandated with the task of regulating medical colleges and education. The major functions of MCI are maintenance of uniform standards of medical education both undergraduate and postgraduate, recommendation for recognition or de-recognition of medical qualifications of medical institutions of India or foreign countries.
The council received complaints from across the country on issues relating to both medical institutions as well as professionals"

This is the condition of our Medical Institutes in India. However one of the minister of UP has taken a step to fulfill the number of doctors required by promoting Indian doctors from foreign countries to work in UP govt hospitals.

In case you are not lucky enough to get admission in India then you can choose RUSSIA AS AN OPTION FOR MBBS

Russia has become a popular study abroad destination of higher studies. The total cost for the MBBS course in Russia is approx Rs 12-15 lakh inclusive of course fees, accommodation, travel and medical insurance.

Russia, with the highest literacy rate in the world (99.6%), has become increasingly popular as a destination of higher studies amongst international students due to its global standards of education (with European equivalence) and affordable costs.
The last 15-20 years have seen a surge in the number of international students coming to the Russian Federation. Thousands of Indian students graduate from the more popular Russian universities every year.
If you decide to go for it, however, do your background research on the chosen institute and the admission process. Do not let any unscrupulous agent take you for a ride and cheat you of large sums of money by making tall claims.
For the benefit of the students, Culture Centre of Russian Embassy in India has recognized ‘RUS EDUCATION' as the authorized ‘Admission department of Russian State and Government Universities in India'.
